You May Want To Consider

Obedience to rules is not the way to tell who is a follower of Jesus Christ. We can be identified as a believer only when we reflect the true nature of Jesus Christ -- and that's not easy to do. Love is the answer and the only way it can be done. Agape love which means "giving" love is the love we're talking about. Religiousity - what we do as Christians - is idolatry if it's not filled and covered with Love. Our faith is only philosophy at best unless it's filled and covered with God's Love. The identifying characteristic of a follower of Jesus Christ is unconditional love. That's Agape! (1 John 4:7) -Thomas Q. Robbins

THOMAS Q. ROBBINS' BIBLE STUDY

WEEK OF February 5-11, 2012

ThomasQ.jpgThis Bible study involves the familiar account of Bartamaeus, a Blind Man, who is healed and then tells the authorities as Jewish law commanded.   Bartamaeus told them, “It was a man called Jesus but I don’t now where he is” when they asked where all this happened.

The authorities were very upset because a “healing” took place on the Sabbath.  Rejoicing because a man who was blind can now see had not and never would enter their minds.

There are various kinds of blindness wouldn't you agree?  Thomas Q. shows us the growth of this blind man from having a need to being healed and from knowing the name of Jesus to understanding who He was and represented spiritually.

This was a big deal to the Pharisees.  Note how the parents of Bartamaeus are blind too.  Note how Bartamaeus grows spiritually in a short period of time and is punished by those in authority.

This account of Bartamaeus also clearly illustrates how God initiates the relationship with Him.  He is the one who is always reaching out to us.  There was a beautiful song written back in the 1970’s by Gary Paxton, a famous rock and roll songwriter.  It expressed a principle that he found in his conversion to God through Jesus Christ after a life of tough, Godless living.  The song says, “He Was There All the Time!”

So, how is your vision when it comes to spiritual matters?  Any of us can get spiritual astigmatism, nearsignedness or even macular degenertion.  But you know what?  Your spiritual vision problem is able to  be corrected right away – and it’s just between you and Jesus Christ.  It’s vital that you clearly see what is real and true and beautiful and worth the investment of your life?

Our scripture is from the 9th chapter of the Gospel of John, verses 35-41.  Dr. Thomas Q. Robbins calls this message, “How Well Do YOU See?”

WONDERED ABOUT THE THEME OF "COME AND SEE?"

bobpress.jpgBob Bennett  - Artist/Composer "Come and See" theme
Many listeners have asked about the theme song of "Come and See."  It is sung by Bob Bennett who is also the composer.  Some ten years ago, Bob gave Dr. and Mrs. Robbins permission to use his "Come and See" song for the radio program.  Since then listeners have been blessed by the message and the unique ministry of Bob Bennett.  You already know a lot about Bob just by listening the short theme.  He is unique in that while a musician and artist in Christian music, he is NOT a performer but rather a minister.  That's his life -- to serve his Lord through a unique approach to Christian music.   His official biography is printed below when you click the <READ MORE> link.
